For many of us, Camp Lo represents a time we don’t want to leave behind – park bench cyphers, skipping class, and first loves. Whether entering high school or a veteran to the game, “Luchini A.K.A. This Is It” became the anthem.
Nostalgia is a bitch and left us stuck in the 90’s. The New York City natives had a few releases over the years but none to touch the masses like Uptown Saturday Night. Longtime producer Ski Beatz, who brought us the Camp Lo hits “Luchini” and “Coolie High”, delivers us another reminiscent album – “Another Heist”.
With an old school flavor and laid back vibe, Camp Lo has finally grabbed that feel we’ve been waiting for. You can get your two-step on to “Beautiful People”. “Boogie Nights” is the new dance track with its chipmunk-soul approach. And the album would not be complete without the soulful jazz elements indicative of blaxploitation resonance. With their third installment of Black Connection, Camp Lo limits their growth to the comparison of what was instead of what is to be leaving the fan to wonder if they too got stuck in the 90’s, “Will they ever top ‘Luchini’?”
