My name is Terrell. I’m an artist from Queens, New York. I go by the name of Rex which stands for Real Extraordinary. My stage name derives from the psychotic nature of my alter ego which is a dark, grimmey, and aggressive sound that is often represented in my music. I’ve been making music for 4 years. I first began freestyling in my friend’s studio, just playing around. Some of my friends used to tell me I suck but I saw improvement gradually after each freestyle. Due to my determination, I never gave up and shortly started writing songs because I enjoyed being challenged to make a better song than my last and I genuinely enjoy the process it takes to create a song. When I first started, one of my great childhood friends & who is also my engineer– always believed in me & pushed me to continue making music. He also has a studio in his home so im never just chilling when I’m there, I’m always recording something. I have released a mixtape on Datpiff titled “The Styles Free” on November 16th ,2014, my 21st birthday. Followed by two music videos “The Juice” and “I Don’t Know You”. I took part in the “Music Makes An impact “showcase hosted by Impact Radio’s DJ Mashout in January 2016. I took home first place in the contest. It was a great experience & an honor to compete with the upcoming artist. June 1st of 2016
I then released my Mixtape titled “10 Crack Commandments ” with a follow up of two music videos “Lost in the sauce ” and “M.I.G”. There’s plenty more to come as Im putting together an album for the end of the year.
